Beth Wolff’s roots run deep in Houston with her paternal great grandparents arriving in the late 1800s. Growing up in Houston, Beth attended Sutton Elementary, Pershing Junior High and Bellaire School, where she graduated after her junior year. At the University of Texas College of Business Administration, she was recognized as an outstanding student her senior year. With a BBA and a Teacher’s Certificate in hand, Beth married and began teaching math at T. H. Rogers Junior High the year the public schools were integrated.
After the birth of her daughter, Cynthia, Beth became a homemaker. Her son, Ed, soon followed. In 1974, Wolff became the sole supporter of her two young children. She chose real estate as a career for its time flexibility and income potential.

In May of 1978, with one sales associate in 375 square feet of office space, Wolff & Associates, Inc. was founded.  By July, the company added space, something it would do five times in its first 10 years, until moving to its current location. Encouraged by a former statewide magazine (Ultra Magazine), the company name was changed to Beth Wolff Realtors.

Fortunate to be successful as a woman in business in the ’70s, Beth wanted to give back to the city that had been so good to her. Since first volunteering for the Chamber of Commerce (now the Greater Houston Partnership), Beth has discovered she has received more than she has given.

Mayor Kathy Whitmire first appointed Beth to a city commission. Mayors Bob Lanier, Lee Brown, Bill White and Annise Parker have continued to appoint Beth to commissions. Beth has been involved with many firsts for the city including the first house built by Houston Habitat for Humanity, the convention center hotel, Quality of Life Coalition and the oversight chair for Opportunity Houston.

Involved in every aspect of the Houston Association of Realtors, the largest trade association in Houston, Beth has been recognized by the group with its prestigious Presidential Citation, the John E. Wolf Citizenship Cup, and election as Chair in 1992. She is also a member of the Texas and National Associations of Realtors and “Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate.”

Selected as a Woman on the Move in 1989, Beth continues to serve in civic leadership positions. A Leadership Houston graduate of Class III, Beth has served on Leadership Houston’s Policy Council and as Vice Chair of Graduate Programs and chair of the Executive Briefing Committee. She chaired Keep Houston Beautiful. Additionally, she volunteered on the boards of the Better Business Bureau, Greater Houston YMCA,Greater Houston Partnership, American Red Cross and the Symphony League. Beth is a graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future.

She is honored to be in the Junior Achievement Hall of Achievement in Biztown, a recipient of the NCJW Faith & Humanity Award (an honor she shares with son Ed Wolff), and the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber Hall of Fame. Most recently recognized as a Houston Business Legend, Beth is honored to be a 2014 Woman of Distinction.  Beth’s desire to give back to our community comes from her gratitude for the opportunities Houston has provided her. Through her leadership, Beth Wolff Realtors has become a unique firm dedicated to specialized, personal service. The experience and knowledge Beth shares with the company’s partners and clients is invaluable to their successes.

Her greatest treasure is her family. Son Ed is President of Beth Wolff Realtors, and daughter Cynthia is a partner with Hayter & Peatross, LLC in Shreveport and has opened her own title company. Beth’s most precious and cherished times are spent with grandchildren Brooke, Sarah, Tenley and Jake.
